About Paulus Hamutenya Primary School

Serving the Eenhana community since 2006 with a caring, disciplined learning environment where learners thrive academically, socially, and spiritually.

Brief History

Situated in the heart of Eenhana, Paulus Hamutenya Primary School was established in 2006 as a satellite of Eenhana Primary School. Named in honour of Reverend Paulus Hamutenya for his lifelong contribution to the community, the school now provides holistic education across Junior and Senior Primary phases.

He completed his Basic Education Teachers Diploma at Ongwediva College of Education in 2008. He further advanced his studies with an ACE and Bed Honours in Learner Support from North- West University, and holds a Master’s Degree in Educational Psychology from Great Zimbabwe University. Mr. Eliud is passionate about learners’ development and fostering academic excellence through inclusive and engaging teaching methods.

I am a teacher at Paulus Hamutenya Primary School, with extensive teaching experience in the Senior Primary Phase. My professional journey has been guided by a deep passion for curriculum implementation, particularly within the field of Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET). I hold an Honors Degree in Education, majoring in English, Social Studies, and Design & Technology from the University of Namibia (UNAM). In addition, I have completed a Master’s Degree in Education (Languages – English) through the Great Zimbabwe University (GZU). I am currently pursuing a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in Curriculum Studies, furthering my commitment to educational research and innovation.

Ndaameshime Natalia Ndemushakena is a devoted member of the Paulus Hamutenya Primary School community and a long-term resident of Eenhana, where she has lived for over 20 years. Her journey with the school began in 2018, when she started volunteering to support daily school operations and contribute to creating a positive learning environment. Through her hard work, reliability, and commitment, she became an integral part of the school team and was officially employed in 2023 as the Hygiene Officer. In this role, Natalia ensures that the school remains a clean, safe, and healthy space for both learners and staff. Her dedication and community spirit continue to make her a valued member of the Paulus Hamutenya Primary School family.

With over 11 years of teaching experience, Mrs. Olavi is committed to creating a nurturing and engaging learning environment where every child can thrive. She enjoys sharing ideas, reading, and working with computers, all of which enrich her teaching methods and inspire her learners. Her dedication to continuous learning reflects her strong belief in empowering children to reach their full potential.

With five years of teaching experience, Ms. Shapumba has received multiple circuit awards, including the Best Junior Primary Teacher award in 2024. She serves on several school committees and the School Board as Treasurer. Passionate about nurturing learners’ potential, she continues to inspire excellence and growth.

She’s also the founder of Gorgeous Investment Cc, showcasing her entrepreneurial spirit. With qualifications in Public Relations from UNAM, Education for Junior Primary Education, and a Postgraduate Diploma in Business Administration from IUM, Frieda is currently pursuing a master’s in business administration at IUM. Her blend of education, administration, and business acumen positions her for continued success.

As the founder of the Eenhana Annual Kiddies Fun Festival, Lydiam creates opportunities for children to learn, play, and thrive. Mr. Nghishongwa holds a Master’s Degree in Curriculum Studies from Great Zimbabwe University, a Bachelor of Education (Honours) in Education Management, Leadership and Policy from the International University of Management (IUM), and a Diploma in Education (Mathematics) from the University of Zimbabwe. He also holds an Advanced Certificate in Mathematics Education and a Certificate in Labour Law from LaRi. He began his teaching career in 2008 and has since demonstrated a strong commitment to learner development, guidance, and holistic education through his work as a Life Skills teacher. His academic background and professional experience have equipped him with a deep understanding of curriculum implementation, learner support, and the integration of values-based education.

Beyond the classroom, Johaness has a strong passion for sports and proudly serves as a sports organizer at school, ensuring learners stay active, healthy, and engaged through physical activities and competitions. His enthusiasm for sports reflects his belief in the importance of teamwork, discipline, and perseverance — values he instills in his students daily.

Varien Maswahu is a Junior Primary teacher at Paulus Hamutenya Primary School. She obtained a Basic Education Teacher’s Diploma in Junior Primary (Grades 0–3) with a minor in English (Grades 4–7) from Caprivi College of Education. She also completed training in Inclusive Education and Multi- Grade Teaching. Varien is dedicated to her work and always eager to discover new adventures in both teaching and personal growth.

Ndeutungu Francina Keendjele

School Patron

School Patron at Paulus Hamutenya Primary School.

Ndeutungu Francina Netumbo Hamutenya Keendjele has been appointed School Patron of Paulus Hamutenya Primary School for the period 2025–2026. She was born and raised in Eenhana and is the daughter of Tate Martin Paulus Hamutenya, the first born of Reverend Paulus Hamutenya, after whom the school is named. After completing her secondary education at Ongwediva High School, she obtained a Bachelor of Arts Degree and a Higher Education Postgraduate Diploma from the University of Fort Hare in South Africa. She began her teaching career at Gabriel Taapopi Senior Secondary School and later at A. Shipena Senior Secondary School, teaching English and History for Grades 10–12. While teaching, she completed a Bachelor of Education (Honours) and later a Master’s Degree in Education at the University of Namibia. She is currently a PhD holder, having earned her doctorate from the University of South Africa. Throughout her career, she has served in various leadership roles including Head of Department (Ministry of Education), Head of Centre, Area Coordinator, Regional Manager, Director of Student Support at NAMCOL, Dean of Students at Triumphant College, and Deputy Chairperson of the National Council of Higher Education (NCHE). She has also served as a church elder and steward at the Hosianna Parish in Windhoek. She has contributed extensively to education through committee work, supervision of research papers, and serving as a language editor for tertiary study materials. A passionate advocate for formal education, she expresses deep gratitude to the school leadership, staff, learners, and community for entrusting her with this role. She believes that “Education remains the backbone for the development of human beings” and calls upon all stakeholders to unite and pool resources to educate the Namibian child for national development.
